Creating Tables on Microsoft Word 5 th Grade Technology

Step 1: Open Microsoft Word Application Open the Microsoft Word application by clicking the start icon at the bottom left corner of the computer screen Look for the Microsoft Word icon and click to open the application

Step 2: Determine what will go in your table Example: There are 5 students attending an award ceremony. Two students are seventh graders, one is a fifth grader and the other is a sixth grader. Show the above information in a table using Microsoft Word.

Important Information There are five students total Two 5 th graders One 6 th grader Three 7 th graders *So the information that needs to be distinguished are the grades and the number of students in that grade.

Step 3 Open a table with the correct columns and rows Find “Tables” on the tool bar. Go to “insert tables” Determine columns (2) Determine the rows (4) Click “OK”

Step 4: Input data in your table GradeNumber of Students who attended the award ceremony 5 th 2 6 th 1 7 th 3

Class Assignment Complete Technology Worksheets Part 1 & 2. Be sure that your computer assignments have the proper heading (Name, Date & Subject)
