The Problem of the Chair

VISION Vision is like a covenant, a contract or an agreement. Vision involves 2 parties who each have responsibilities to fulfil.

The problem of the Chair

The problem of the chair comes when we sit back and expect God just to get on with it.

The problem of the chair = Heart attitude Finding the right heart motivation

2 Peter 1:3-4 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

We have received life from Christ. We have His power to live like Christ. We can live freely through Christ.

The problem of the Chair The chair lies!

So don't lose a minute in building on what you've been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others. 2 Peter 1:5-7 (Msg)

Strategic Foci 2009/10 Growing into Spiritual Maturity

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. 2 Peter 1:8-9

A Christian, A Christ-One is expected to grow and be fruitful! Jesus expects fruit – Matthew 21 We want to be worthy of the Name that we are called!

So, friends, confirm God's invitation to you, his choice of you. Don't put it off; do it now. Do this, and you'll have your life on a firm footing, the streets paved and the way wide open into the eternal kingdom of our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:10-11 (Msg)

Getting out of the Chair Stability of faith (not tossed around) We will bear fruit We will see the vision that God has given to us unfold … We will receive those wonderful words: “Well done!”

Getting out of the Chair What will it take for us to get out of the chair? Is there a lie to reject? Is there a truth to grab hold of? Asking for help. Asking for accountability. Prayer & Humility
