The main aim is to explain the importance of registering to vote and making sure you are registered ahead of all elections but also to practice voting in a polling station format and choosing who to vote for. Aims for the session

Here are some usefully things to know, to be able to vote in an election: You must be registered You need to make sure your details are correct If you move house or change your name you will need to register to vote again Each person is responsible for making sure they are registered You can register from 16 yrs old, even though you can only actually vote from 18 yrs old You are not allowed to vote if you are not registered Who voted in the General Election? Now its time to vote by marking your ballot paper next to the person you want to win, this can be a tick or a cross, or it could be a line. Vote
