VISE website VISE (Virginia Information Source for Energy) is a web-based clearinghouse for information on both industrial and domestic energy efficiency opportunities, financial incentives, and renewable energy related issues and projects in Virginia.
3
Why VISE? Energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies are important to Virginia's environmental and economic health as well as to the health of Virginians. Conventional energy produced from the burning of fossil fuels results in pollutants being emitted to the air. These emissions can be health hazards and contribute to the deposition of pollutants on land and in water.

5
Why VISE? Improved efficiency and the use of cleaner renewable energy technologies can reduce the environmental impact of Virginia's energy needs and help reduce dependence on fuels from foreign countries. For these reasons, the Department of Environmental Quality's Office of Pollution Prevention is committed to promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
6
What is available on VISE? The VISE website includes information on: energy efficiency techniques and programs applicable to the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors energy efficiency techniques and programs applicable to the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors renewable energy topics: wind power, hydropower, solar power, energy from biomass, waste, and geothermal renewable energy topics: wind power, hydropower, solar power, energy from biomass, waste, and geothermal alternative fuels: biodiesel, ethanol, compressed natural gas, hydrogen alternative fuels: biodiesel, ethanol, compressed natural gas, hydrogen

What is available on VISE? The VISE website includes information on: financial incentives from the Federal government, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and private sources to promote the use of alternative fuels in vehicles and transit, the use of renewable energy, and energy efficiency technology by businesses and homeowners financial incentives from the Federal government, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and private sources to promote the use of alternative fuels in vehicles and transit, the use of renewable energy, and energy efficiency technology by businesses and homeowners
8
VISE, VEEP, and your EMS VISE can be used as a resource for facilities in the Virginia Environmental Excellence Program (VEEP) that have the reduction in energy use as one of their objectives Facilities that have energy efficiency or renewable energy success stories are encouraged to share their information on the VISE site
9
Where is VISE headed? “Energy success stories” to highlight Virginia facilities that are leading the way in improving energy efficiency, using renewable energy, or using alternative fuels Information on the recommendations from the Virginia Energy Plan and the Governor’s Commission on Climate Change
10
Additional Assistance The Office of Pollution Prevention offers free, voluntary, non-regulatory visits intended to identify cost-effective opportunities for facilities to conserve energy and resources. These visits are available to all Virginia businesses and local government. If you are interested in one of these visits or have a question about energy conservation, renewable energy technologies or pollution prevention, please contact: Rachel Bullene rebullene@deq.virginia.gov rebullene@deq.virginia.govrebullene@deq.virginia.gov
