To support the engagement and ongoing involvement of quality education staff in rural and remote communities of Victoria.

Developed by CEP in 2007 based on previous work undertaken by CEP, Rural Education Forum of Australia and experiences from other states Learnt from the development of the National Rural Health Alliance to recruit health professionals to rural and remote Australia Initial focus has been on building partnerships between rural clusters and pre service teacher universities.

Four years of operation 12 rural partnerships supported Over 240 pre-service teachers involved 54 rural schools involved Partnerships in all DEECD regions and 2 CEO Diocese 5 universities across 9 campuses Approximately 40% of pre-service teachers involved gained a teaching position in a rural school after their involvement
