3- dimensional figures Rectangular Prism Cylinder Vertex Flat Face Straight Edge Curved Edge Curved face

6 What is the shape of the orange Juice shown in the figure?
Answer- Cylinder Orange Juice

7 Lines and Line-segments
Line – A straight path that goes in two directions without ends. Line Segments – Lines that stay the same distance apart from each other.

Name each figure. A B C Answer- a) Triangle b) Rectangular Prism c) Line

9 Intersecting and Parallel lines
Intersecting lines – lines that meet or cross at a common point. Parallel lines – lines that stay the same distance apart from each other. They do not cross. Intersecting Lines Parallel lines

Ray A ray is a straight line. It has one end point and goes on without end in 1 direction.

11 copyright@Ed2netLearning,Inc
Angles An angle is formed by 2 rays with the same end point. Right Angle – A right angle forms a square corner.

Polygon Polygon is a closed figure with straight sides. Example: hexagon, pentagon, octagon Closed figure but not a polygon Polygon

13 copyright@Ed2netLearning,Inc
Polygon A pentagon has 5 sides and 5 angles. A hexagon has 6 sides and 6 angles. An octagon has 8 sides and 8 angles. Hexagon Pentagon Octagon

Identify and Draw each Polygon a) It has 3 sides. b) It has 4 sides. All are equal. Answer – Triangle Square or Rhombus Triangle Square

15 copyright@Ed2netLearning,Inc
Quadrilateral A closed figure with four sides. Example: Rectangle, square, Trapezium, Rhombus Parallelogram – Quadrilateral having both pair of opposite sides parallel. Trapezoid – Quadrilateral having only one pair of parallel sides. Trapezoid Parallelogram

Nick made a pentagon using 5 toothpicks. He now wants to change pentagon to octagon. How many more toothpicks does he need?

17 copyright@Ed2netLearning,Inc
Bob makes two different quadrilaterals with 4 equal sticks. What two quadrilaterals did he make?

18 Draw a) ray b) Parallel lines
