3 MTAC #87 3 Preparing for Fall Mailing Season FAST will provide information via the customer telecoms on Fall Mailing Season preparation:  FAST is gathering input –from mailers on issue facilities from last year –from Processing Operations to obtain Fall Mailing Season plans  FAST will provide reports on facilities that have –Increased Slot and Volume Capacity –Increased declines to appointment requests FAST will hold bi-weekly calls with areas to discuss:  FAST will Review changes by Areas to: –Increase Volume Capacity –Increase Slot Capacity  Monitor increases in declined Web Services appointment request USPS will review this information bi-weekly with mailers

4 MTAC #87 4 Customer Web Based Training USPS Customers can now access a web based training course to learn about the Facility Access and Shipment Tracking (FAST) system. The training course includes information about:  Facility Profile and Drop Entry Point Information  Drop Shipment Appointment Creation and Management  Scheduler and Corporate Rating  Reporting  Available Resources and Reference Materials The FAST Customer Web Based Training Course is available for download on the https://fast.usps.com website.https://fast.usps.com  Click on resources and importation information.  A handout on details about accessing the Web Based Training is available in the back of the room.

5 MTAC #87 5 FAST August Release FAST will have a maintenance release end of August including the following items: –Reports’ selection criteria will allow searching for only plants and BMCs –Delivery Unit Deployment Enhancements No Slot Capacity Constraints – Scheduling limitations by receiving hours –New Recurring Appointment Performance Report –Recurring Appointment Decline Email Notification –Appointment Calendar Report enhancement –Allow Percent over Maximum Volume Capacity –Closeout Data Report search by Shipment Appointment Request ID (SARID) –Show SV scanned indicator for each appointment –The Mail Direction file format will be available via the “All” download option for the Drop Shipment File Downloads in the Resources Section

6 MTAC #87 6 Delivery Unit Deployment Remaining Delivery Units where destination entry discounts are available will be activated in early FY 2007 Pilot to validate the activation and communications process will begin in 9/2006  Pilot will consist of the Connecticut and Massachusetts Districts Communications:  USPS will begin sending out delivery unit deployment communications on the timeline for national activation  USPS will provide handouts to mailers at the BMEUs to give new mailers information on registering with PostalOne! and FAST training Benefits include:  Improved visibility of drop shipments  Reduction in phone calls to delivery units  Better start the clock based on arrival and electronic information

7 MTAC #87 7 Next Steps Meeting scheduled in August to discuss streamlined mailer rating rules
