1 “The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that fits all cases.” -Eleanor Roosevelt Rachel Jensen October 10 th, 2011 3 rd hour, Career Tech

2 According to Tori Amos, “Some people are afraid of what they might find if they try to analyze themselves too much, but you have to crawl into your wounds to discover where your fears are. Once the bleeding starts, the cleansing can begin.” Psychology is an interesting occupation. As a psychologist you never know what will happen that day. Each person you talk to, has a different story and reason they’re there than the next. Every conversation with a patient is as exciting as the next. Knowing you helped someone is an amazing feeling and I love it. There wasn’t anything specific that made me want to become a psychologist, except the fact, I have always loved listening to others and helping them through their issues. In order to get a better understanding of this career field I will be researching the nature of work, working conditions, training, qualifications and advancements, job outlook/employment and earnings. Hopefully this information will further ignite my passion to become a psychologist.

9 After researching information about psychology, I am even more interested in pursuing this career. I learned so much about what the job entitles, the job outlook, the earnings and what kind of schooling I need. I believe this is the job for me and I am excited to pursue it. What interests me the most about psychology is treating patients with psychological disorders. Psychological disorders interests me because their unique and it’s interesting to know why people have them. I can’t wait to treat patients with the disorders and I hope I will be very helpful. I least look forward to the studies and experiments. I am not interested in experiments at all. Those are the only downfalls of this career, otherwise I love it. Overall, I learned everything I need to know about psychology.
