2. THE MUSIC The music in the middle ages was very uplifting and light hearted to lift the spirits of those who heard the melody. They usually played music during meals and get- togethers. They believed music help with digestion. Music was also played during festivities, where a lot of people could hear it. Along with the music, there would almost always be a jester to do some tricks and sing.

4. THE ARTWORK The artwork in the middle ages were mostly religion related. Some artwork showed the daily lives of serfs and knights at war. They also showed kings and queens and lords. Artwork showed historical events that could not be written down at that time. For example the black death or a crowning of a king. The art work helped people who could not read what was going on at that time.

6. THE CHURCH In the middle ages, most people did not know how to read and write, so when it came to tell the people of Jesus’s life, the church had to find way to tell the tale. They chose stain glass windows and paintings. The windows in the church were big and colorful; making it almost impossible for people to miss them. They depicted scenes of Jesus’s life. The church had to hire artist to paint huge murals on the churches walls and ceilings. These murals showed the differences between heaven and hell (this is a place but, sorry if this is not allowed). The murals were also used to scare the people into worshiping God more and to complete the sacraments (holy orders one had to complete to gain entrance into heaven).
