1 What are windturbines for? Wind turbines are large mills who catch the blowing wind. They are placed in areas near sea or places where there is to be expected a lot of wind. Wind turbines can convert wind into energy. Energy that is usefull for people. Worldwide there are a lot of ways to produce enregy. Some examples are: Atomic energy, water-energy. Some of those productions of energy are very polutioning. But the production of wind energy is very polution friendly, so a conclusion is that the production of wind energy helps with the environmental protction of our earth.
