2. They MUST be within a year. Please make sure you get your daughter’s physical updated if it will expire mid season.

Costs and fees… Spirit  Gear ~$250  Uniform Deposit- $75  Activity Fee- $ 50  Camp $100 Competition  Gear ~ $400  Uniform Deposit- $75  Activity Fee- $ 50  Camp- $100  Choreography- $150 ***Please note that the date that gear money is due is changed to Tuesday, June 9 th.*** ***White Sox is still due June 3 rd.***

4. Do we have any fundraisers?  Little Spartans 11/14 8am-Noon 11/17 Game  Little Caesars Pizza (SHHWAB)  SHEF Event in Spring  OPTIONAL: White Sox Tickets  Spirit- Would go towards gear fees.  Competition- Would go towards gear or choreography fees.

5. When will there be practices? SPIRIT SUMMER: TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAYS 10AM-NOON SCHOOL YEAR: GAMES TUES/THURS= 2:40-6:15/30 PRACTICES MON/WED= 2:40-4/4:30 **IDEALLY WE WILL HAVE TWO PRACTICES A BEFORE BASKETBALL GAMES START. ONCE GAMES BEGIN WE WILL IDEALLY HAVE ONE PRACTICE A WEEK.**

6. When will there be practices? COMPETITION SUMMER: TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAYS 10AM-NOON SCHOOL YEAR: MONDAYS 2:40-4 EITHER TUES/TH ( NOT BOTH IN ONE WEEK )- 2:40-4 OR 4/4:30-6/6:30 WEDNESDAYS 2:40-4 OR 4/4:30-6/6:30 **IDEALLY WE WILL HAVE TWO TO THREE PRACTICES A WEEK DEPENDING ON GYM AVAILABILITY.**

7. What happens if I miss practice?  If you are absent from school your absence is excused.  If you attend school and miss part of practice for a religious education class and notify the coach in advance your absence is excused.  If you attend school and do not attend practice with no doctor’s note or email in regards to a religious education class you are not excused.  1 st unexcused practice= documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader  2 nd unexcused practice= documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader and parent  3 rd unexcused practice = documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader and parent (meeting if needed)  4 th unexcused practice= alternate position(if not already), documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader and parent  5 th unexcused practice = stays in alternate position, documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader and parent with athletic director  6 th unexcused practice= released from squad What happens if I miss multiple practices ?

8. What dates to I need to remember? Summer Camp= Both Squads  Tuesday, August 11 th  Wednesday, August 12 th  9am- 5pm  Saturday, November 14 th  Little Spartans 8am-12pm Choreography = Competition Only  Saturday, September 26 th  Sunday, September 27 th  9am-5pm

9. Practice Calendars SCHEDULES WILL BE HANDED OUT EITHER ONE OR TWO MONTHS IN ADVANCE. Summer Dates… Please email the coaches the dates you will be gone on family vacations during the summer.

10. Who cheers at the basketball games?  7 th & 8 th grade spirit cheerleaders do the sideline cheers during the 7 th & 8 th grade boys basketball games. IESA only allows 12 girls on the sideline during the game. Each game the coach will let the girls know which game they will be doing halftime.  7 th & 8 th grade spirit cheerleaders do the time out chants during the 7 th & 8 th grade boys basketball time outs.  7 th and 8 th grade spirit cheerleaders do the 7 th grade half time routine.  Competition cheerleaders perform half time at the 8 th grade boys basketball games.

11. When will there be competitions? COMPETITION SQUAD ONLY ALL GIRLS REQUIRED TO ATTEND EVERY COMPETITION SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12 @ LWN HS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13 @ BOLINGBROOK HS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19 @ ANDREW HS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20 @ JOLIET WEST HS SUNDAY, JANUARY 10 = ICCA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY, JANUARY 23 = IESA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

12. Expectations for All Cheerleaders IESA Code of Conduct Maintain A, B and C’s on report card Respect yourself, the coach and your teammates Attend all practices on time Support your teammates Show Sportsmanship both inside and outside of school Communicate with your coach in a timely manner Show school spirit throughout the entire school year
