Expectation is that all teachers will be providing LEP accommodations to students in their classes Not Just for the SOL!

Access to accommodations on the SOL requires the completion of the LSAPP for each student A school based committee meets to complete LSAPP Committee will require information from classroom teachers regarding accommodations LEP Student Assessment Participation Plan (LSAPP)

English Learners Level 1 – 5 are eligible for LEP accommodations Students who have refused ESOL services may still use LEP accommodations Who is Eligible?

Flexible Schedule (#1) Multiple breaks over one day Test over multiple days Intention: For those with linguistic fatigue or need extra time to complete due to being overwhelmed by volume of linguistic input Particularly those who have recently arrived to an English- speaking country Accommodations Overview

Visual Aids (#4) Paper template to help students focus on one item or line at a time Intention: Primarily for visually impaired students Students taking a paper/pencil test due to testing over multiple day testing accommodation Accommodations Overview

Read-Aloud: Read-Aloud (#10) Options for using this accommodation: Read entire test aloud*** Read on demand *** Read questions aloud first and then read the passage Read word problems aloud (***VDOE has determined the online audio function meets the requirements) This accommodation is not available on the Reading test.
