Revisions and Motivation Proposed Creation of a product family: Spring Influenced Retractable Cord System: Mounted on the exterior of the vacuum. Added user convenience Cost is not affected by much. Small Metal Chain to Replace the Current Rubber Belt: Slightly more costly than the last revision. Chain belt would likely last the lifetime of the vacuum cleaner Parts needed: Small Steel Chain Teethed Gears Chain Guard Group 12

Where to go from here… There will be a need for gathering additional Information. Bissell might want to weigh out the benefits of outsourcing and purchasing some materials. Additional marketing research will be needed to see if customer is willing to pay an extra $10 for added convenience and reduced lifetime maintenance costs. Technology already exist so only design revisions are needed for implementation of new model. Group 12
