INTRODUCTION Dear Reader, My book, To Kill A Mockingbird, talked a lot about perspective. Atticus did this very often especially when talking to Scout. He always told her to take a walk in other people’s shoes and see how they lived. I chose this theme, because in the end it really helped Scout see how Arthur (Boo) Radley saw the world. I chose these pieces, because I felt like it would help me explain to you why I chose this theme. First, I’m going to do a diary entry from Scout’s point of view about Boo Radley. Second, I’m going to talk about Dill and Scout’s relationship in a letter. Third, I will do a eulogy for Bob Ewell. Fourth, I’m going to do a grocery list to show what they’d have bought. Lastly, I’m going to do a police report about when Dill ran away that summer.

DIARY ENTRY Dear Diary, Jem and I walked by the Radley place again today. That house gives me the creeps. Jem says it doesn’t but I know it gives him the creeps too. I thought I saw the curtains move, but Jem just told me to stop being a girl. He said it didn’t scare him anymore, but I saw him cringe when I told him what I thought I saw. School’s almost over and Dill will be coming soon. Then he’ll hatch up some extravagant plan to get Boo to come out. I can’t wait till summer, then I don’t have to go to school. I’ve got to go,.is calling me to do something. He needs to get over his attitude that he seems to have gotten lately. Anyways, I’ll try to write later. With love, Scout

LETTER Dear Scout, I regret to tell you that I’m to stay in Meridian. My mother and the man she has been engaged to got married. We’re going to build a boat and go fishing. We’re still engaged, remember? Not to worry though, as soon as I get enough money together, that’ll be me and you. I’ll come as soon as I can. It might be next summer before I can though. I’ll be missing you this whole summer. Love, Dill

SELF-EVALUATION I feel like my areas of strength were when I could write about stuff I like, such as the research paper we did. I absolutely hated grammar and I still do to be honest. I mean c’mon I can’t even speak English, what makes you think I write it. I learned that grammar is important and if I didn’t have any, I’d probably sound like a serial killer. I feel like overall I did good and that I had a good year. I could always improve my grammar and spelling for that matter. Positive, I got better at my grammar and spelling, too. Negative, you left me the week of exams and we had some lame substitute who didn’t know what she was doing. Overall, I really enjoyed your class and I had fun. I hope you have an excellent summer and a great next year.
