1 Welcome to the Minnesota E-Crash Train the Trainer Course

2 “The Department of Public Safety is a continuing education sponsor as approved by the Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training. This course MNCrash Train the Trainer for Submitting Officers, has been approved by the POST Board for continuing education credit. Peace officers who successfully complete this course will receive 3 hours of continuing education. The sponsor of this course has a written policy for the investigation and resolution of allegations of classroom discrimination. This policy applies to all faculty, instructors, administrative staff, and students. A copy of the policy may be obtained from the sponsor by contacting the Office of Traffic Safety, Kathleen Haney, 651-201-7064."

3 The Minnesota E-Crash application Is provided by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and the Department of Transportation.

4 The Minnesota E-Crash application is going live on January 1 st, 2016 STATEWIDE

5 Purpose of this Training Provide the information and the tools necessary to train the personnel at there agency on the application. Additional on-line tools and documents are being prepared and will be available at a later date.

7 Highlights of MN Crash Quick Capture Component allows officers to capture driver and vehicle information in the front end of program. Allows for Quick Scene Clearance, reducing on-scene safety issues and possible secondary incidents. Allows for the Driver Exchange Form to be printed if printer is available in the patrol unit. Exchange Form is Printer compatible to letter size or 4 inch strip printer.

8 Highlights of MN Crash Built in Map-It component for crash locating and common street value names Pulls map of area based on Profile Selection to city or county level (zoom capable). Point and Click on location, roadway names, latitude and longitude auto-filled into application Measure tab allows for location to be determined from established point away from intersection (any direction) Google Earth interface allows for compliance check

9 Highlights of MN Crash Number of data element increases provides better data for crash and location analysis A Stand Alone Form and Web based application is available to agencies with connectivity limitations. Mobile Fill capability to import data from driver’s license and registration inquiries.

10 Easy Street Draw Diagramming The Easy Street Draw Diagramming provides numerous intersection, curve, and interchange templates to create the roadway diagram. Click and drag dropping of all objects. Ability to change size, colors, and direction of all input. Templates can be built and saved for use again. Ability to share the built templates for entire agency.
