Depending on the combination of software being used, it is possible to import many parameters from the CAD analysis into the FEA simulation: Loads and boundary conditions Contact types Meshing parameters and element types Section 1 Module 3 Page 1

Baseline CAD analysis results can avoid multiple design iterations within the FEA simulation. Boundary conditions, such as fixed and sliding contacts are also present in CAD analysis packages. All of the above can be set in the CAD package and later imported into Autodesk® Simulation Multiphysics for further analysis and refinement.
