Yes! Amoebic dysentery is contagious. Caught from drinking contaminated water, food, or from contact with an infected person. There have been over 600 cases in the state of New York each year.

There are some symptoms that come in two different levels. mild symptoms: bloody stool, nausea, abdominal pain, tenderness, and weight loss Can appear days to months after contracting the illness. Serious symptom is liver abbess Months up to a year after the symptoms are no longer there the parasite might be.

You can prevent it by washing you hands. Staying at home from school or work if sick. There is an antibiotic that can be prescribed from a doctor called Metronidazole. To prevent the disease you can take drugs to kill the pathogen and disease causing agents
8
Doctors can prescribe antibiotics to a patient how has amoebic dysentery. Stool sample analysis. Blood tests. Ultrasound. Colonoscopy.
9
colonoscopy-the use of a thin, lighted instrument inserted into the rectum and the colon is viewed directly then a sample is taken to be tested. Ultrasound- using the reflections of high frequency sound waves to construct an image of a body organ (used to see babies).
