Your Total Health Being healthy is more than just not being sick. It also involves feeling good about yourself and getting along with other people. Health is a combination of physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being.

The Health Triangle Like a triangle, your health has three sides: Physical health Mental/emotional health Social health The key to good health is keeping a balanced health triangle.

Maintaining a Balance Each side of your triangle is equally important to good health. An unbalanced health triangle is unhealthy.

What Is Wellness? WellnessWellness is more than being healthy. Every decision you make can affect your wellness. For example, eating healthy snacks instead of empty- calorie foods will satisfy your hunger and contribute to your wellness.

Fold the short sides of the sheet of paper inward so that they meet in the middle. Draw two circles—one that covers both sides of the Foldable, and one that covers only one side of the Foldable. Label as shown.

On the back of each panel of your Foldable, take notes, define terms, and record examples of health and wellness. In the middle section, draw your personal health triangle.
