Teachers - Be friendly & firm. -Characteristics - Learning styles & strategies. - Family background. - Class rules Students

Planning & Preparation Why planning ? Know beforehand what has to be done. Keep the teacher ready. Finish the units in time. Make teaching effective. Help getting through all the materials. Help continuity. Help anyone take over a class temporarily.

Types of plans : 1. Yearly plan. 2. Semester plan (scheme of work). 3. Weekly plan. 4. Daily lesson plan. 5. A plan for outstanding students. 6. Remedial plan.

Focus on teaching or learning ? Focus on 4 skills; grammar & vocabulary. Various techniques/methods, why ? Instructional aids/materials (book, board, note book,..etc). Body language. Reduce TTT & increase PTT. Timing.

Lesson Stages (Production) The teacher asks some questions; Or ask students to do some tasks, why ? What are the productive skills ? What should you do if the students cannot answer your questions or do the tasks ?
