2. Ethan Derner started the Alameda Kinder Paints project The project was getting his daughters kindergartner class to help paint a mural Ethan had noticed a retaining wall near the school that was constantly being tagged, and wanted to change that The Basics

3. The Idea Ethan would appear to be just an everyday dad, but he stepped up He wanted the best for his children, which included their environment This retaining wall needed some love

4. The Obstacles As with most projects, you tend to hit a few bumps along the road One of main problems was funding Along with getting all the required permits to put up a mural, which involved jumping through hoops! And of course the legalists of it all

5. But alas, it all came together All the kindergarten classes got to come out and paint So many people pitched in to help in any way they could

7. This project brought the community together It taught kids the importance of artwork and team work It proved that if you are willing to put in the effort, you can have a positive effect in the community Outcomes
