Observations and trends: Year 5 2012 cohort achieved poor Reading and Numeracy results – as a one-off Current year 5 at or below NMS is VERY large (over 27%) compared to yr 3 (16%) 2014 yr 5 top 2 bands average= 36.1%. 2014 yr 3 top 2 bands average= 50.8% Overall Year 5 graphs don’t tell the story Year 3 trend in reading over last 2 years is poor Year 3 trend in numeracy over last few years is steady – but the State trend is up
