3 News Releases  Boys & Girls Club Members Joined by The President and First Lady for Service Project in Honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service  WASHINGTON, DC –On Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service, in honor of Dr. King’s life and legacy, President Obama and the First Lady joined members of the George Ferris, Jr. Clubhouse 6, a unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington in a community service project with AmeriCorps members. Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, Assistant to the President, Cabinet Secretary Broderick Johnson, and Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) CEO Wendy Spencer were also in attendance and helped to create a mural in the Club’s Art Room as well as compile literacy kits.  “Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is an important way for kids and teens to learn the value of citizenship and community service while honoring Dr. King’s legacy,” said Jim Clark, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “We are so proud that our members were able to put their service into action alongside The President, First Lady and members of our nation’s Cabinet and Senior Administration.”  As a part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Million Members, Million Hours of Service initiative, Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation are helping kids understand that donating a small amount of time can make a big difference in their communities. The Million Members, Million Hours of Service initiative gives Club youth and all young community members the opportunity to perform 1 million hours of service within five years by donating at least one hour of service in their own neighborhoods each year.  The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is an opportunity for all Americans to honor Dr. King by coming together to help meet the needs of their communities and re-commit to service throughout the year.  For more on the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service, please visit the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) at mlkday.gov.  About Boys & Girls Clubs of America For more than 100 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America (GreatFutures.org) has enabled young people most in need to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. 6  Challeng, an organization that describes itself as "the first platform for fun challenges to support great causes" has set one out for the people -- get James to be a part of the NBA slam dunk contest. Challeng  The crux of the campaign is to donate to the cause and then if James does choose to participate, the group will donate any money earned to Boys and Girls Clubs of America (as of Wednesday afternoon, more than $6,000 had already been raised). Should James choose not to participate, donations are refunded, according to the site.  In the challenge video, a boy asks LeBron, "What's the one thing all the greats have done that you haven't?"

7  I Think LeBron Should enter the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest  This would look good on Both parts LeBron and Boys and Girls Club  This is great way to raise money to this charity.  So far Boys and Girls Clubs has raised $23,056  All Star Weekend will be held in NYC. Madison Square Garden is the perfect play to showcase LeBron James astonishing dunks.  TV Ratings would off the roof  More Money would be donated to B&G Clubs of America
