Parts of the plant Function of organic compounds Common uses for our herb What effects the lavenders growth Photosynthesis Procedures and methods Graph Observations conclusion bibliography
3
flower Stem leaf
4
Lavender has a unique smell that attracks insects This helps the lavender reproduce making this an adaption
5
Flowers and leaves are used for cooking Flowers are often used fresh salads Produces honey Flower buds are used for essential oils which is the basic lavender flavor
6
Sunlight Water Temperature
7
The function of photosynthesis to convert the energy given by the sun and turn it into sugar and food for the plant The organelle responsible for photosynthesis is the chloroplast Radiant energy from the sun is transformed into chemical energy through the process of photosynthesis sunlight+carbon dioxide+ water sugar+oxygen
8
get two plastic cups (one for light and one for dark Get two pieces of green colored tape and write your group number and all your groups names Place 3 cotton balls on the bottom of each cup Fill each cup up with soil Place 3 seeds in each cup of soil Now place one cup on the light tray and one on the dark You must water each plant daily
10
Our plant never grew. The process of a plant growing towards the light or away from the light is called positive and negative phototropism Our plant never grew so we were not able to see the roots grow. Our plant never grew so we were not able to see anything unusual grow
11
In the end our plant never grew The data did not support our hypothesis Questions we thought of during this investigation were, how tall will the plant grow? Will it grow better in light or dark?
