Buy more items in bulk to reduce packaging. Try to carry my reusable water bottle more often instead of purchasing water when out. Carefully purchase food and reduce food waste.

Buy more durable products that can be used longer. Identify ways to use less paper and do more work online, such as reading books online. Work to reduce the amount of junk mail I receive.

Plant my garden with biodegradable pots. Use biodegradable cleaners. Buy wooden products (like toys) instead of plastic ones. Try biodegradable plastic bags to see if they work well and are an acceptable substitute.

Save old T-shirts/jeans/shirts and make a quilt. Fix zippers instead of throwing sweaters/fleeces away.

Save used tissue boxes, magazines, and toilet paper roll holders for scouting and school craft projects. Refill ink cartridges. Remember to try to repair products before throwing them away.
