2  Had the strongest navy in the world. Well trained army more then 8 million people lived in Britain.  Had to fight from thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean took time and money. BRITISH Advantages Disadvantages

17 AMERICAN REVOLUTION CHAPTER 6 LESSON 2  Marquis de Lafayette, Lafayette was from the country France. He was inspired after the Americans wrote “The Declaration of Independence because he felt it was hopeful for all humans. He joined forces with General Washington and served without pay. He was a trusted aid to General Washington. Thaddeus Kosciuszko and Casmir Pulaski. Kosciuszko and Pulaski were from the country Polish. They also worked for free The both were leaders who fought in the Continental Army. Friedrich Von Steuben, Von Steuben was from the Prussian Army. He came to help train the Continental Army at Valley Forge. Juan de Miralles, Juan de miralles was from the country Spain. He convinced three countries to give money to help the Patriot cause; Spain, Cuba, Mexico.

The patriots formed an effective blockade because they were trying to keep ships from entering or leaving American harbors. The Privateers were very helpful in the war at sea. A privateer is a Privately owned merchant ship outfitted with different weapons. They were helpful because there goal was to capture enemy merchant ships and cargo. John Paul became a Patriot hero in war at sea. He became a patriot because he won his first successes raiding British Ports.
