3 What is a blog? blogging? Noun? Verb? Website? Online journal? Social network? Other?

4 A blog is … “a website that is up-dated frequently, with new material posted at the top of the page” (Blood). “a term used to describe a website that publishes content on a regular and ongoing basis. It can be a personal diary, a chronicle of commentaries on various issues and topics, or a creative journal, to name just a few” (Boan).Boan

5 A blog Is… “basically an easy way to publish content on the Internet [because] it allows you to put that content online without needing to know things like Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) or coding languages” (Richardson).Richardson web + log = weblog = blog

6 Blogs are simple to use! Blogs do not require expensive software programs Blogs do not require a background in web design and/or programming If you can fill out a form, you can blog!

9 How blogging helps teachers Partner with at least two other people. Share your review notes and discuss the samples as both effective writing and as teacher resources.
