In Your Classroom? The myth about social media in the classroom is that if you use it, kids will be Tweeting, Facebooking and Snapchatting while you're trying to teach. We still have to focus on the task at hand. Don't mistake social media for socializing. They're different -- just as kids talking as they work in groups or talking while hanging out are different. The Best Learning Is SOCIAL In Your Professional Development? ◎ Most of us identify professional development with formal degree and training programs. However, the bigger part of the professional success story is dependent on your personal learning networks (PLNs). Social media has the ability to amplify your reach through expansion of PLNs, which can be aptly utilized for enhancing one’s professional growth. ◎ In this advancing digital era, if we aren’t using social media to keep up with professional relationships and organizations, there is a risk of being left behind. But one cannot help but think: How much social media interaction is appropriate for professional growth?
