6. More interesting facts The hole that the iceberg made, was a 300 foot gash. There were supposed to be 62 lifeboats, but they only put 16 boats and 4 life rafts, because they thought that the titanic was unsinkable. One person said that even god could not sink the ship but god showed them that he could, by making them hit the iceberg. Inside the titanic there was 43 tons of fresh meat and fish, 40 tons of potatoes, 1,750 c quarts of ice cream, 3 tons of butter and 1,500 gallons of milk.
