2. Preparing Our Graduates for the World that Awaits Them What is Title I? Title I is a federal assistance program for schools. It provides extra funding and support to help students, teachers and families work together, so students can be successful. All Title I schools in Pender County are “Schoolwide” Title I Schools. This means funding is used for the benefit of ALL students.

Preparing Our Graduates for the World that Awaits Them Families in Title I Schools have rights… You have the right to – Know how your child is progressing throughout the year – Know how your school compares to other schools in Pender County and in North Carolina – Have input on the school’s compact and parent involvement policy – Request information about the qualifications of your child’s teachers – Be engaged in educational decisions that affect your child – Offer your opinions about school programs by serving on the School Improvement Team, Parent Advisory Council and by responding to surveys and attending school meetings
