Introduction to Workcenters Julie Thompson, ITS

Background Workcenters were introduced in version 9.2 Designed to be a “one stop shop” for users Users can not only view transactions that need attention, but can take action from the Workcenter itself (budget check, matching, etc.) The Accounts Payable and General Ledger Workcenters were the only ones deployed with upgrade 9.2

Pagelets My Work – PeopleSoft delivered links Links – Menu Items and external URLs Queries – Originally only those BOR queries that had been added by ITS – Users are now able to add their own queries Reports/Processes – Menu items and URLs

AP Workcenter Main Menu > Accounts Payable > Accounts Payable Workcenter

AP Workcenter In order to use the Accounts Payable or General Ledger WorkCenters, users will need to define their business unit for each work link.

Can now use the ‘in’ or ‘between’ operators to get both primary business unit and “B” business unit vouchers Edit Filters

Personalize Pagelet Use Personalize on Pagelet to hide items, change the display order, or make that item your starting page when opening the Workcenter

Refine criteria Use ‘Refine Criteria’ to temporarily narrow down results

Refine criteria Same criteria as Edit Filters, but these will revert to the criteria saved in Edit Filters the next time the link is initialized

Personalize Grid Use Personalize on grid to choose fields to display and sort order

Export to Excel Results displayed in grid are able to be downloaded to Excel (true throughout PeopleSoft)

Adding a query Go to ‘Personalize’ on the Queries pagelet

Adding a query Can add Public or Private queries Description is what will display on the Workcenter. To display the query name, choose the Override Title checkbox and copy the query name into that field

Adding menu items, URLs, reports Currently, if users are granted the right to add menu items, it also grants the ability to add URLs For now, queries are the only items that users can add Submit requests for additional menu items, URLs, and reports/processes to ITS via the helpdesk
