2 prime number Math A number that has exactly two factors: 1 and itself (the number) 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, and13 are all prime numbers because they have only two factors.

3 exclamatory sentence English A sentence that expresses strong feelings by making an exclamation. An exclamatory sentence ends in an exclamation mark. (!) Sentence: –I can’t believe it! Reading and writing actually paid off!

4 civilization Social Studies A complex society with cities, government and a writing system The Stone Age was not a civilization because they had no cities, government or writing system.

5 hypothesis Science scientific explanation that you think may be true and that can be tested An experiment is designed to test a hypothesis.
