School Day Start & End Time 8:30am-4:00pm Doors will open at 7:45am

No Bells No bells within the school day We will have a bell when school begins and ends. Teachers and students will be responsible for following “Google time” in order to begin and end class on time.

Lunch All STEAM students will eat together in the CHS cafeteria from 10:50-11:20am. (before CHS students are released to lunch)

TRUST Card The student TRUST Card promotes a culture of: Teaching Responsibility Understanding Social Skills Trust

TRUST Cards, Privileges ● Independent Study time as Innovation Time ● Ability to access monitored classroom ● Ability to use privileges that a teacher allows in their class ● Ability to work in the hallways or collaborative areas of the building ● Ability to listen to music and/or use technology

TRUST Card, Broken Trust ● If a student violates a campus- wide rule, their TRUST card must be given to a faculty member, administrator, or staff member for a time period determined by the involved faculty, administrator, or staff member. ● In order to regain the TRUST card and subsequent privileges, the student must initiate a conversation with the involved faculty, administrator, or staff member to resolve the issue and reacquire the TRUST card.

Dress Code Pants Navy, Khaki, or Black bottoms (no cargo) Shirts Any Day: Solid polo (no logos), STEAM, Kerr, & Hughes spirit shirts Thursday: College shirt Friday: High School (BHS or CHS) shirt Shoes NO house shoes, wheeled shoes, flip-flops, slides, or cleats

Chromebooks ● All students will receive a Chromebook ● Chromebooks will be used in all classes and should be taken home daily ● Agreement will be signed by student and parent upon receipt Chromebook

Personal Electronic Devices Personal Electronic Devices include: ● Cell phones ● iPods ● iPads ● MP3 Players ● Handheld gaming devices, etc. Students are allowed to have Personal Electronic Devices for instructional purposes only. If problems occur, the device may be turned into the office.

Lockers? No lockers: students are responsible for carrying their Chromebook as well as materials needed for each class.

Module Schedule 22 mods of 20 minutes each 1 mod of 10 minutes = 23 mods a day (comparable to a 7 period schedule) *Humanities (Language Arts & Social Studies) 80 minutes *Math & Science are 60 minutes *Elective classes are 60 minutes Creates flexibility within our day.

Important STEAM Dates & Events ● Schedule pickup August 12th 1-6pm o 6th Grade: 1:00pm - 3:00pm o 7th Grade: 3:00pm - 5:00pm o 8th Grade: 4:30pm - 6:00pm *Schedules will not be available for students until their allotted time *Proof of Residency available until 7:00pm ● Meet the Teacher August 19th 5:30-7pm ● First Day of School August 24th ● Yearbook Pictures August 28th

Kerr and Hughes Athletics Forms for ordering 7 th and 8 th grade athletic practice uniforms will be available at STEAM Schedule pick-up if you are unable to attend athletic meetings. We encourage 6 th grade students who will participate in Athletics next year to purchase Kerr or Hughes athletic practice uniforms.

PTO at STEAM We will have a PTO meeting on August 13 th at 6:30pm in Seminar Room E. Officer elections and nominee introductions will take place during this meeting, and all are invited to attend. Officers will be announced immediately upon conclusion of voting.
