2.  I was born and raised in Carlisle, Ohio ( a small town between Cincinnati and Dayton)  In middle school I played softball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, and ran track.  In high school I was in National Honor Society and continued playing sports (soccer was always my favorite sport).  I graduated from Carlisle High School in 1998. Go CARLISLE INDIANS!

3. I traveled to Australia and New Zealand in the 11 th grade as a member of the People to People Student Ambassador Program. (Ask me how you can become a member and travel when you are in high school!) http://peopletopeople.com/

4. I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Education (Social Studies and Language Arts). Favorite classes: 1. Literature in the Middle Grades 2. American History

5.  My first job in education was teaching 9 th grade English to students at Lockland High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.  For the 2005-2006 school year, I was the Title One Reading teacher for 6 th graders at Jones Middle School in Florence, Kentucky.

6.  I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2006.  This is my 10 th year teaching middle school.  This is my 9 th year teaching here at Carmel.  I taught 8 th grade language arts for several years at Carmel.  This will be my 7 th year teaching 8 th grade social studies in North Carolina.

7. My husband’s name is Louie. He is a contractor who helps remodel homes and commercial properties.

8. My mother is a retired elementary school teacher and my father is a retired chemical engineer. I have an older sister who is a nurse. My sister, Sarah, is married and has two children, Kori and Riley.

9. Welcome Baby Louie!! Louis Stephen Schratzmeier was born on June 14, 2012. My other child is a five year old dachshund dog named Kasey.
