When do I have to know what I am doing for my product? Your Product Idea Sheet is due on Wednesday, February 23rd

What kinds of things can I do for my product? What kinds of things can I NOT do for my product? See pages 4-6

What does it mean to have to “stretch” or “challenge” myself in this product? It means that whatever you choose to do must require you to learn a new skill or expand a skill you already have. Ultimately, you must learn something new.

How many hours do I have to spend on this product? -15 hrs. to get a “C” -20-25 hrs. to get a low “A” -Anything over 25 hrs. is an A+ *Quality is an important part of the grade, too

How will I prove I spent these hours? -keep a journal with parent signature (pgs. 11-19) -provide detailed reflection for each hours check -the QUALITY of your product -You can also opt to take pictures of yourself as you complete the product

What are the restrictions on the hours and product size? -1 hr of research & up to 2 hrs to gather supplies on 1 st check only -no drying time -For size, you must be able to transport it and fit it through the doors of the school

Do I need to take pictures of myself doing my product? -not required, but encouraged -it is easier to prove that you are doing the hours if you can show pictures. -if you take at least 10 pictures of you doing your project in different stages and display them creatively, you can earn extra credit -You have to print the pictures and have them on your presentation day

Can I work with another student on this product? -NO. -You have to do this on your own. No group projects allowed.

If I sew a costume, do I have to be in the fashion show on Day 80? -Yes.

When is the last date that I can change my mind about what I am doing for my product? What happens if I change after this date? -March 25 th -You lose 30 points on all three test grades

What do I have to do if I change my product idea? -fill out the product change form on pages 9-10 -turn it in before March 25 th

When will this project be due? The first week of May. You will be assigned (by a random drawing) a day and time to present that week.

When do I have to bring and take away my product? -on your presentation day during the first week of May -Plan to go on the first day to make sure that you are prepared.

Do I have to present my product to the class? Yes.

What if my product is not done by the day I present? -Bring what you have done -Anything is better than nothing -If you bring nothing, you fail. No late projects are accepted.

How will we be graded on the product? -quality of product and presentation -time management -the length to which you “stretched” yourself -your paperwork proving hours

If I don’t do a product, can I come to Day 80? You cannot present anything on Day 80 if you don’t have a project. This is two test grades as a zero. You can come and watch everybody else pass the project.

There are four main types of products: -Models -Performances -Art -Sewing (No technology projects)
