Standard 1- Legal Compliance Felony or crime involving moral turpitude- reprimand/revoke Conviction of a misdemeanor criminal offense involving the possession of a controlled substance- reprimand/1 year (2 nd offense-Ga. Law requires revocation) Committed or convicted of criminal offense involving the manufacture, distribution, trafficking, sale, or possession of a controlled substance or marijuana- reprimand/revoke—(Georgia law requires revocation after second offense) Committed or convicted of a sexual offense-revoke

Standard 2-Conduct with Students Sexual act with student-revoke Inappropriate written, verbal, or electronic contact (including pictures, videos, etc.) with student-1 year suspension/revoke Furnished alcohol or drugs to students-1 year suspension/revoke Failed to prevent the use of alcohol or drugs by students-reprimand/revoke

Standard 3-Alcohol or Drugs On school premises or at a school related activity involving students while possessing or consuming alcohol-1 year suspension

Standard 4-Honesty Falsify, misrepresent, or omit qualifications or criminal history-reprimand/revoke Falsify, misrepresent, or omit information on employment history-20 day suspension Falsify, misrepresent, or omit information about reasons for absences or leaves-reprimand/10 day suspension Falsify, misrepresent, or omit information submitted in the course of an official investigation-reprimand/revoke

Standard 5-Public Funds and Property Misuse of public or school related funds, failure to account for funds, submission of fraudulent requests for funds, other- reprimand/revoke Pornography on computer-45 day suspension (with student involvement-minimum of 90 day suspension)

Standard 6-Remunerative Conduct Solicitation of parents or students to purchase equipment, supplies, or services which financially benefit the Educator without approval of supervisor or BOE-20/90 day suspension Acceptance of gifts from vendors for personal use or gain-reprimand/1 year suspension Tutored students assigned to the Educator for remuneration without prior approval-20/90 day suspension

Standard 7-Confidential Information Sharing confidential information concerning student academic, disciplinary, medical, test results, or other records that are considered confidential information-reprimand/90 day suspension

Standard 8-Abandonment of Contract Unless abandonment was for valid reasons identified by Commission-90 day suspension Valid reasons-personal or family illness which prevents fulfilling contract, spousal transfer which requires unreasonable commute, or a promotion within the field of education

Standard 9-Required Reports Failure to immediately report child abuse (physical or sexual)-1 year suspension/revocation Failure to report student has a weapon on school grounds or a school function-20 day suspension/1 year Failure to immediately notify proper authorities that a student is involved with controlled substances-90 day suspension/1 year suspension Failure to report all requested information on documents required when applying for or renewing a certificate-reprimand/1 year suspension

Standard 10-Professionalism Demonstrates conduct which impairs or diminishes ability to function professionally in position-reprimand/revocation Demonstrates behavior detrimental to the health, welfare, discipline, or morals of students-reprimand/revocation
