BACKGROUND q FEDERAL LAB CONSORTIUM ORGANIZED IN 1974, CHARTERED BY CONGRESS THROUGH FEDERAL TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER ACT OF 1986 q MANDATE IS TO PROMOTE AND STRENGTHEN TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER FROM FEDERAL RESEARCH LABS TO OTHER FEDERAL AGENCIES, STATE/LOCAL GOVERNMENT, AND IN PARTICULAR THE PRIVATE SECTOR

q FEDERAL LAB CONSORTIUM ORGANIZED INTO SIX REGIONS q MID-ATLANTIC REGION q PENNSYLVANIA q DELAWARE q MARYLAND q WASHINGTON DC q VIRGINIA q WEST VIRGINIA q HISTORICALLY, STRONG PRESENCE IN “WASHINGTON METRO” AREA OF FLC. EFFORT IN PAST 2 YEARS HAS BEEN TO EXPAND THE FLC INVOLVEMENT IN OTHER AREAS OF THE REGION
