The MAPCY will be the universal assessment tool for all programs under Northstar Care for Children (family foster care, kinship assistance, adoption assistance). MAPCY rolled out in SSIS Version 13.4 in preparation for the field test. Phase 3 of the field test is currently running for select agencies and will continue through mid-July. Revisions to the MAPCY will occur based on analysis of data obtained in the field test and SSIS will implement these changes for the rollout of Northstar Care. 3/4/2014SSIS Worker Mentor Meeting2

11
In the Parenting Care and Attention section of each domain, at least one indicator must be selected. When no indicators apply, the worker must select “none of the above indicators apply to the caregiver’s parental care and attention.” If this is not done, a “reminder” message will display when the worker clicks the “complete” checkbox. When the worker clears the message, the “complete” checkbox will automatically uncheck. This feature is only available when a worker uses the “complete” checkbox. “Reminder” messages will not display if a worker simply switches to another domain or another screen within the domain. 3/4/2014SSIS Worker Mentor Meeting11

In some domains, there are required subsections within the Parenting Care and Attention section. If the required subsection is not completed, a “reminder” message will again display when the worker clicks the “complete” checkbox. When the worker clears the message, the “complete” checkbox will automatically uncheck. Again, this feature is only available when a worker uses the “complete” checkbox. “Reminder” messages will not display if a worker simply switches to another domain or another screen within the domain. 3/4/2014SSIS Worker Mentor Meeting13

Please Note: Selection of one child/youth need is required in each domain. In Domain D, an emotional/behavioral need, a physical health need, and a developmental need must each be selected. This “reminder” feature does not work if a worker has forgotten to select a child/youth need in a domain, but a “reminder” will display when the worker scores the MAPCY. 3/4/2014SSIS Worker Mentor Meeting15
