Lesson Analysis This subject leads the teacher going beyond teaching a simple unit. when students come up with a family tree this may reveal their real family situation, this may also highlight whether or not a student has some family difficulties. Selecting accurate activities to teach is difficult and potentially stressful, since they must have clear benefits/ results for students to improve their learning process. Why this topic?

Lesson Analysis Activity #1 Warm-up (Star of my life) T draws a star on the board, with names and numbers (age) of her family members. Ss don't know what they mean and have to ask questions and try to guess their meaning. In pairs, Ss do the same with their own star. Activity #2 (grammar focus) Explanation of how many there are/is uses. (positive and negative form) Pre Activities

Lesson Analysis Activity #3 FOWSAK (How many family members are there?) Ss come up with their previous knowledge about “family members” vocabulary by watching a family portrait; they tell what they can see using “there is”, “there are”. Activity #4 (Find your partner) Ss are given with a cartoon couple name and they have to find the partner to get in pairs. During Activities

Lesson Analysis Activity #5 (How many words are there?) In pairs, they have three opportunities to identify and write as many words as they can see in a slide vocabulary. 30 seconds each. Activity #6 (Listening to and counting) Ss tear a strip of paper every time they listen to any word about family members. During Activities

Lesson Analysis Activity #7 (Identify the picture) Listening to some picture descriptions containing family members and identify which is been described. Activity #8 (What do you remember) Matching exercise in which Ss have to answer questions about what the Ss can remember from the pictures. During Activities

Lesson Analysis Activity #9 (Guessing game) Ss Listening to the T telling some family members relationship and they have to guess the correct word. Markers are put on the floor near the board. one member per group stands up, takes a marker and writes the word down on the board. Activity #10 (Question swap) Ss write three questions related to “family members” on a piece of paper. Ss stand up and move around asking and answering their questions and swap questions.
