Is the first international labour standard on HIV and AIDS Includes the workplace and engages world of work stakeholders as essential to the HIV response Calls for the development, adoption, implementation, monitoring of national workplace policies & programmes Is a tool to increase international cooperation in the UNAIDS framework HIV and AIDS Recommendation, 2010 (No. 200) Recommendation No. 200

Human rights at work Recommendation No. 200 takes into account the ILO Code of practice on HIV/AIDS and the world of work (2001) in establishing key rights in the workplace. Social protection Treatment, care and support Gender equality Social dialogue Underpins all these principles and rights Non discrimination

HIV and AIDS Recommendation, 2010 (No. 200) Protections for all workers Broad scope of coverage: All workers + families + dependants, including: Persons in any employment, occupation or economic sector Persons in training (interns, apprentices and volunteers) Job applicants, job seekers, laid-off or suspended workers Workers in the informal economy Armed forces and uniformed services

HIV and AIDS Recommendation, 2010 (No. 200) Protecting key groups Children & young persons Workers in occupations particularly exposed to risk of HIV transmission Migrant workers Workers belonging to regions or groups at greater risk of HIV infection Workers discriminated against based on their sexual orientation

Collaborate with employers, workers & PLHIV to develop & implement national policies and programmes Collaborate to integrate policies & programmes into national AIDS strategies Integrate HIV into wellness programmes and other national schemes Train labour inspectors, law officers to monitor policy implementation and compliance.
