Problem Solve…  Determine the missing information on the paper given to you and get the completed message to Mrs. Venier.  Rules:  No signing to Mrs. Venier  No verbal communication with Mrs. Venier  The paper can NEVER leave the desk it was left on  You have 3 minutes to develop a written solution  Submit the solution when you are asked to by Mrs. Venier.

6. SITUATION PROBLEM  Describe the scenario in detail. Give an overall description of the ‘problem’.

7. Problem Defined  Take the “Situation” and describe it in great detail.  Describe HOW you will go about the project. Consider things like materials, limitations, budget, etc.  At this stage, you must describe the research you will need to perform. (what do you need to research and where will you get your information from and how will you attain it)  Describe the steps you need to take to get to a possible solution.

8. INVESTIGATE (research stage)  Perform the research  Generate Possible solutions/ideas through written information, pictures, labelled diagrams\  With each possibility, list the advantages and disadvantages

9. CONSTRUCT  Decide which is the best solution to the problem  Written explanation of how you will make the product  Sketch the product on paper  Create a technical drawing. This must be accurate. Label this with dimensions.  Operational Steps – write the steps on how one would make the prototype. Be detailed and clear so that anyone could create the product.  Gather materials and make a prototype!

10. EVALUATE AND TEST  Test the prototype and see if the idea worked.  Analyse the prototype for improvement. Could it be improved? – how?  Did the process by which it was madeCould the process by which it was made improve it?  Were the drawings clear?, was it constructed perfectly?, were the instructions clear?, did you include enough details overall?
