This is crucial for the bookkeeper and helps ensure that the money you send in is directed to the correct account!

4  Reading, Writing, and Grammar will be integrated.  Students will be taught to read closely in an effort to build comprehension and to promote evidential writing. We want them to read like a detective, and write like a reporter  Students will be assessed with STAR Reading, Accelerated Reader, Benchmark tests, teacher made tests.  Students should strive to master grade level writing and speaking Mrs. Basel, Mrs. Costa, Ms. Braden, Mrs. Blohm, Ms. Mercer, Mrs. Hrouda, Mrs. Stuart, Ms. Amos

6  Close reading describes, in literary criticism, the careful, sustained interpretation of a brief passage of text. Such a reading places great emphasis on the single particular over the general, paying close attention to individual words, syntax, and the order in which sentences and ideas unfold as they are read.  Text complexity : difficulty level and quality  Evidentiary responses : meaning comes from the text; written responses, work independently

13  This is a great opportunity to help your child!  Students have their previous answers with them while answering the questions in class!

14  We recognize and embrace the technology that is available as student learning tools.  BYLD forms to allow your child to bring in a Nook or Kindle will be sent home this week  Any books loaded onto the device, must be loaded at home prior to bringing the Nook or Kindle to school  Use and security of these devices are the sole responsibility of the parent and student
