Turn off your cell phone Go to the restroom before the play begins or during intermission Leave your cell phone on or talk to someone during a performance Leave your seat during the performance

Arrive to the theater early Eat & drink prior to entering the theater Dress professionally Arrive at the theater late Eat or drink in the theater Wear jeans, shorts, flip flops or hats in the theater

Save your program or buy a t-shirt to remember the performance. Take pictures of friends and family AFTER the show. Video tape or audio record the performance. Take pictures of your friends or family on the stage.

8 The Do’s & Don’ts of Audience Etiquette
Sit quietly with your feet on the floor. Applaud at the end of the act (before intermission) or at the end of the show. Place your feet or knees on the seats in front of you. Speak, yell or call out to the performers anytime during the play or at the end of the performance.

Review guidelines for the audience etiquette video project. Complete the audience etiquette planning worksheet. Review guidelines for “Celebrity” and participate in the game Who is Stella Adler & what are some names of some of her students?

Students will Journal Prompt Complete the theatre journal for today. Meet with audience etiquette groups & complete scripts by the end of the period. We will begin filming tomorrow. What is the proscenium and where is it located?

19 Audience Etiquette Video Performance Guide
Video must be at least three minutes in length All group members must participate Groups will be graded over the following: Performance 25% Use of Rehearsal Time 25% Audience Etiquette 50% You will have four days to plan, develop, edit & create the video.

20 Videos will be reviewed in class and evaluated for improvements.
Videos will be played prior to each of the AHS theatre performances this year.
