Electronic Applications Electronic submissions require you to submit an application electronically (on-line) Colleges or universities that accept electronic transcripts and applications will display this icon in the college list UNIT 1 LESSON 7 6

Paper Applications Some colleges/universities only accept paper applications When you see this icon on your college list, you will need to submit your application and transcript through the mail via USPS UNIT 1 LESSON 7 7

Common App Many of the top 10 colleges our students apply to, DO NOT use Common App But, for the colleges that require Common App to complete the application, here are the 3 steps you needs to take Go to www.commonapp.org after August 1 to create your account www.commonapp.org UNIT 1 LESSON 7 8

Common App Complete your FERPA Release Authorization Match your Naviance Family Connection account with your Common App Account Matching When applying to colleges that use the Common App, students will see this icon in the college list section UNIT 1 LESSON 7 9

Log-in to Naviance Family Connection Log-in: http://connection.naviance.com/cascadehs http://connection.naviance.com/everetths http://connection.naviance.com/henrymjhs http://connection.naviance.com/sequoiahs username: student ID password: last 4 digits of your student ID and the day you were born (xxxx-last four digits of student ID and XX Birthday day) Example: 999321 UNIT 1 LESSON 7 12

The Colleges I’m Applying to List Open the colleges tab, colleges I’m applying to If you have not added colleges to this list, you will need to move from colleges I’m thinking about list to the +add to this list UNIT 1 LESSON 7 13

Adding Colleges If you would like to add colleges to your list, complete the decision type, select lookup Then, click the request under Transcript Select the college you would like to add to your list When done, click Add Colleges UNIT 1 LESSON 7 14

Editing Applications Go to colleges I’m applying to and click the pencil next to any college or university name The edit feature you will let your counselor know important things like whether or not you are applying via Common App, the app type, and the result of your application (accepted, denied, waitlisted, deferred) You will need to edit your applications UNIT 1 LESSON 7 15

Teacher Recommendations On the colleges tab, scroll below your list of colleges I’m applying to and locate the Teacher Recommendation s section UNIT 1 LESSON 7 17

Submission Status You may check on the status of their application materials in Naviance Family Connection, under college list You will receive a tracking ID number when documents such as transcripts are submitted. You will also receive a message of confirmation when letters of recommendation have been submitted UNIT 1 LESSON 7 19
