2 The teacher May I introduce myself … Augusto Ninni (specialized in industrial policy and energy markets) Times of the lessons: 11-13 on Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday. When to start ? 11.00 or 11.15 ? 3 Program of the course To analyze many issues at a microeconomic level, mixing industrial and international economics To utilize a (relatively) non academic, i.e. practical approach 3

4 The course has 7 parts 1. Textbook industrial economics 2. Multinational and global value chains 3. National microeconomic (= industrial) policies 4. Energy and environmental market 5. Transnational organizations 6. Lectures by specialized speakers (Goldstein, Masina, Cordes, maybe Lupi) 7. Presentations by the students (around 8 groups) 4

8 The examination The mark (out of thirty) will be the sum of two parts: A paper written on the day of the examination. Students will meet four questions. The questions are about topics discussed during the course, including those presented by the speakers. plus The result of the possible presentation and following discussion (from 0/30 to 3/30) shown during the course The time allowed is 2 hours 8
