2. E ARLY L IFE  William Henry Harrison was born on February 9 th, 1773 in Charles City Country, Virginia.  William was the youngest of seven children. He had four sisters and two brothers.

3. L IFE B EFORE HE WAS P RESIDENT William attended Hampden- Sydney college from 1787- 1790. He was 18 when he joined the U.S. army. He married Anna Symmes and had 10 kids. John Adams made Harrison secretary of the northwest territory.

4. B EING P RESIDENT Harrison was the ninth president of the United States. His vice president was John Tyler. On the day he moved into the White House he caught a cold and it turned into pneumonia. He died April 4 th, 1841 after one month in office.

5. L ATER YEARS After Harrison died John Tyler, the vice president became president. This was the first time a vice president became president because of the death of a chief executive.
