3 CAREER A person’s lifework; a profession that a person works at for a long time.

4 ENTRY LEVEL JOB A beginning job; one of the lowest paying.

5 ENTREPRENEURSHIP Starting your own business

6 RESPONSIBILITY Understanding what is expected of you and doing it.

7 INTEREST What you like to do.

8 ABILITY What you can do.

9 A learned ability- such as keyboarding, carpentry, sewing... SKILL

10 TRANSFERABLE SKILLS Skills that can be used in more than one job.

11 WORK ENVIRONMENT Your work surroundings: indoors or out, quiet or noisy, comfortable...

12 JOB SATISFACTION Liking your job or what you do for a living.

13 CAREER CLUSTER A group of careers with something in common example: Artistic Cluster- dance, photography, cartoonist, painter

15 INTERN An advanced student in a professional field who actually works in their job area, under supervision, to learn skills, usually little or no pay. **teachers, doctors

16 APPRENTICE An inexperienced person who is learning a trade or skill by working under a skilled worker. **electrician, plumber

17 RESUME A written record of what you have studied and work experience you have had.

18 TENTATIVE CAREER PLANS Temporary plans, they can be changed.

19 TURNOVER RATE How often people change jobs.

20 PERSONAL INTERRELATIONSHIPS Getting along with the people you work with, fellow employees, customers, clients, etc.

21 TANGIBLE Real, measurable- things such as money, clothing, homes, health insurance...

22 INTANGIBLE Can’t be measured or touched- things such as feelings, a sense of pride.

23 REFERENCE A source of information used when writing a paper. A person who will give an employer information about your character and work habits.

24 BIBLIOGRAPHY A list of sources that you have used to get information for writing a paper (includes books, magazines, & computer programs.)

25 JOB Employment that a person takes to earn money, but does not plan on doing that work for a long period of time.

26 VALUES Things that are important to you, the way you judge right from wrong (ex. Money, things, truthfulness, respect…)

27 GOALS What you are working toward, what you hope to accomplish, the things that give direction to your life.
