3 1.Plates/ Rods/ Bars: Material ordered = 10 th Dec., 2010 Material shipped = 21 st March, 2011 Material received = 29 th April, 2011 to 6 th May, 2011 2.Beam HEB-220 and Channel UPN-400 Material ordered = 29 th June, 2011 Material Shipment = 11 th Sept., 2011 Material received = 22 nd Sept., 2011 3.1 set of fasteners = July, 2011 YE+4 SHIELDING WALL FOR CMS MATERIAL PURCHASE 3

4 .  Mill Test Certificates of standard ASTM A36 Material received from the supplier.  Test reports of material samples tested for Cobalt content (< 0.1%, as per requirement). Material acceptance from CERN =1 st June, 2011 YE+4 SHIELDING WALL FOR CMS MATERIAL TESTING AND ACCEPTANCE 4 Material testing completed and following certificates were submitted to CERN on 25 th May, 2011

6 First Sector (+6/-2) being machined at HMC-3, Taxila (7 th Sept., 2011)

7 Assembly of 1 st Disk at HMC-3, Taxila on 25 th Jan., 2012

9 Assembly of 1 st set of Supporting Structure with Sectors on 1 st / 2 nd March, 2012

10 Load testing of 1 st Disk on 14 th / 15 th Feb., 2012

12 Dispatch of 1 st Disk on 27 th March, 2012

13 Final Assembly of 1 st Disk (all 12 sectors) and its Load testing was carried out on 14 th & 15 th Feb., 2012. Detailed reports were submitted & accepted by CERN. All the 12 Nos. of Sectors with their beams and sectors of centering rings were dispatched to Karachi from HMC-3, Taxila on 27 th March, 2012. Assembly of Supporting Structure with Sectors was completed and inspected on 1 st & 2 nd March, 2012. Detailed reports were submitted & accepted by CERN..

14 Manufacturing of Second (YE-4) Disk. Sector -1/+7, -2/+6 : Inspected on 19 th & 20 th April, 2012. QA reports were submitted to CERN for acceptance. Sector -3/+5, -5/+3, -4/+4: Final Machining completed and are in the process of de- burring & cleaning. Sector -6/+2, -7/+1, -8/+12, -12/+8 : Fit-up and welding completed. Ready for Final machining.

15 Sector -9/+11: Fit-up completed and Final welding in progress. Sector and -10/+10 : a) Welding of wings of Base plate and perforated plate completed. b) Drilling / cutting of holes for concrete in perforated plate in progress. c) Marking and fit-up & welding of bars on the Base plate completed Sector -11/+9 : a) Welding of Base plate and perforated plate completed. b) Drilling / cutting of holes for concrete in perforated plate yet to start.

16 Fabrication of Support Beam (Dwg # CMSSYEM0155) completed and ready for machining. Machining of Fixing support (Dwg # CMSSYEM0160) and Support left & right (Dwg # CMSSYEM0157 & Dwg # CMSSYEM0158) completed. Final Assembly of the 2 nd Disk/ Supporting structure possible by end of June, 20 CMS is requested to provide the visit schedule of Inspector to witness the load testing and for final Inspection of the 2 nd Disk/ Supporting structure.
