1999-2001 Floe Edge Service Study Arctic Bay and Pond Inlet were partner communities Sponsored by Search and Rescue Canada and Canadian Ice Service Demonstrated that a floe edge service would be beneficial for northern communities

2003 NV Floe Edge Information Service Goals Improve level of service to communities by adding interpreted RADARSAT-1 imagery Demonstrate how useful satellite data can be to northern communities for floe edge and OTHER activities To be selected by ESA for project continuation after 2003 Find long-term sponsor to support the continuation and expansion of the service

2003 NV Floe Edge Information Service Complement to current CIS web service by providing regular RADARSAT-1 imagery to users NOETIX Research has developed the site and will host and interpret the CIS RADARSAT-1 data Canadian Satellite Launched 1996 Owned/Operated by Canadian Space Agency Data distributed by Radarsat International CIS largest user of Radarsat-1 data
