2  Location: Northern Hemisphere  Description: Stretches from Canada, Northern European, to Asia  Soil type: Wet and frozen  Precipitation: Lots and lots of rain, sleet, and snow.  Temp. range: 50 degrees north or 60 degrees north  Climate: Snowy

3  Plant species: Cone-bearing evergreen trees, lichen, and mosses  Animal species: Moose, lynx, wolverines, Cooper’s Hawk, wolves, foxes, snowshoe hare, deer, elk, bears, chipmunk, bats, and woodpeckers. nj.gov

4  Plant: Coniferous trees are abundant roots long to anchor trees needles long, thin, and waxy. Low sunlight and poor soil keeps plants from growing.  Animal: Thick fur or feathers tom keep warm.
