1. Take out a sheet of paper and write your name on it List three items that identify you. Think about what you would put in a time capsule to show (not tell) who you are.

2. Write down the names of three (older) people you know very well. These do not have to be family members, but they could be! For each person, list three items that you identify with them. For example for my father, I would put a guitar, a SCUBA mask, and a button-up, short-sleeved shirt.

3. Family story idea Think about these people. You already can identify with them, with items that show who they are. What story could one of them share with you? This is a snapshot in his/her life, not a life story. This becomes your family/feature story… your narrative. We will create interview questions next week in class, but you must come up with a story idea and source by Monday, 8/11.
